CEREC® Same Day Crowns

Too Busy For Two Dental Visits? One-Visit Crowns with CEREC® We are proud to offer the latest technology in dental restorations—CEREC®. This high-tech system enables us to design, make and place crowns in only one visit. This means less time in the dental chair and more convenience for you, and it also means uncomfortable impression trays full of messy goo in your mouth are a thing of the past! Additionally, CEREC® one-visit dentistry eliminates the need for plastic temporaries while laboratory work is completed (a process that can take weeks and a series of dental appointments).

How does it work?
Using a special camera, we take several images of the tooth to be repaired. Working from those images, we use CEREC®‘s CAD/CAM software to digitally design the crown that we fabricate (mill) right in our office. The computer-aided milling process is extremely precise, ensuring a natural feeling fit when we bond the newly made crown to the tooth. After about 45 minutes or so, your beautiful custom crown will be ready to be placed to look and feel as good as your natural tooth (if not better)!

How do CEREC® crowns look?
Traditional tooth-colored crowns have a metal lining with a coat of porcelain. This porcelain-to-metal combination does not allow light to pass through, creating a dark or gray line near the gumline. CEREC® provides a natural-looking alternative: all-ceramic, non-metal, crowns. These modern restorations provide a lifelike appearance that mimics natural tooth enamel and does not result in the black gumline so common with old porcelain-metal crowns.
